The Canyon and Valencia boys basketball teams are having solid runs in a couple tournaments.
The Canyon boys are in the semifinals of the Burbank Tournament after a 71-59 win over Agoura. Clay Kasdorf had another impressive game with 34 points and 10 rebounds.
Dean Hendrix-Davis also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
The Valencia boys are also in the semifinals at the Simi Valley Tip-Off Classic. Troy Hammel led the Vikings with 17 points in a 61-37 win over Dos Pueblos in the quarterfinals.

The Golden Valley girls basketball team won its first game of the season, 49-47, over Louisville. Ronisha Miller scored the winning basket with 1.2 seconds left in the game.
Teresa Ohaya had 11 points and pulled down 17 rebounds for Golden Valley.
The Saugus girls basketball team beat Nordhoff in impressive fashion, 68-21, to win its season opener. Kim Smither led all scorers with 22 points and had nine rebounds.
Megan Dawe added 21 points for Saugus as the two 6-footers dominated the paint in the game.
In high school soccer, the Valencia girls lost to Westlake, 3-0.
Across town, the Saugus boys lost to Westlake, 1-0.
In swimming, the Canyons Aquatics Club is sending three swimmers to the USA National Championship Meet at Georgia Tech.
Saugus freshman Abby Weitzel is competing in the 100 and 200 freestyle. Hart senior Nicole Antoniuk will race in the 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle. Matt Johnson, a sophomore at Hart, will compete in the 1,500 freestyle.
The meet, which is also a US Olympic qualifier, begins today.
In hockey, the Kings are home for a game against the Florida Panthers tonight at Staples Center.
The Kings are coming off a 2-0 shutout against the San Jose Sharks, but the Kings have lost two of their last three games.
