Canyon Boys Basketball Team Wins 13th Game In A Row

The Canyon boys basketball team beat Birmingham, 74-48, in the Sierra Canyon Super Showcase.

Dean Hendrix-Davis scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds for Canyon. Marc Cabrera scored 18 points and Ben Taufahema scored 12.

The Canyon boys improved to 16-1 and have won 13 games in a row. The Cowboys open the Foothill League season against Golden Valley on Tuesday.

In college basketball, the College of the Canyons men beat Santa Barbara City College, 68-57. The COC men have won four of their past five games and improved to 8-7 and 2-0 in the Western State Conference South Division.

The College of the Canyons women lost to Santa Barbara City College, 85-79, in a Western State Conference game.

The COC women dropped to 7-11 and 1-1 in conference.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NHL, the Kings are home for a game against the Vancouver Canucks at Staples Center tonight.

The Kings are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. They are 2-7 in their past nine games.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Canucks tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. The puck drops at 7:30.
