The Canyon football team can take its first step toward past glory against Golden Valley tonight.
Canyon can claim a share of the Foothill League championship with a win over Golden Valley in the league season finale at Canyon High School.
Canyon is 3-1 and tied for first place in league with Saugus and Valencia. The Centurions and Vikings play on Friday night at College of the Canyons.
Golden Valley is in last place in league with an 0-4 record.

The Hart and West Ranch football teams are playing for their playoff lives tonight at Valencia High School.
Hart is 2-2 in league and needs a win to move into third place. West Ranch needs a win to improve to 6-4 overall and make a bid for a wild-card berth in the CIF playoffs.
The Indians and Wildcats kick off at 7.
The CIF Southern Section girls tennis playoffs begin today. Top-seeded West Ranch is home against Righetti in the first round of the Division 3 playoffs.
The Valencia girls are home for their first round match against Millikan.
The Hart girls, fresh off a wild-card round win over Oxnard, travel to face a tough Redlands team.
The CIF girls volleyball playoffs resume tonight. Saugus has a tough second-round match on the road against Canyon of Anaheim in the Division 1A playoffs.
Valencia travels to Laguna Beach for its second-round match.
The Trinity Classical Academy will play at Baker Valley in the second round of the Division 5A playoffs.
In the CIF girls golf playoffs, Hart’s Kendell Dusenberry and West Ranch’s Julie Ward tee off in the WSCGA Southern California final at the The Golf Club in Murrieta this morning. The tournament is set to start at 8.
In hockey, the Kings are home tonight at Staples Center against the Vancouver Canucks. The Kings are coming off a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators and snapped a five-game losing streak.
The Canucks are off to a bit of a slow start to the season, but beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-2, on Sunday.
