The Canyon girls basketball team reached the semifinals of the Burroughs Magnolia Park Optimist Club Tournament in dominating fashion.
Canyon beat Crescenta Valley, 71-25, behind a perfect shooting night from Alia McCoy. She scored a game-high 22 points and was 8-for-8 from the field.
Canyon will play Fairfax in the semifinals of the Burroughs Tournament tonight.
Sierra Canyon plays Mark Keppel in the other semifinal.

The Saugus boys basketball team lost to Muir, 59-52, in the championship game of the La Canada Tournament.
Jeremy Gatewood led Saugus with 21 points and Chris Lockwood had 18.
In high school soccer, the Saugus girls shut out Calabasas, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the Buena Tournament.
Stacey Atwater scored two goals in the first half. Angie Weiner scored the third goal for Saugus in the second half.
Saugus plays Newbury Park in the semifinals today.
In college basketball, The Master’s College men beat San Diego Christian, 77-60. Anthony Cammon led three players from The Master’s College in double figures. He had 24 points.
Mike Harmon hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points. Paul Brown had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
In hockey, the Kings have a new coach. But before Darryl Sutter takes over the team, the Kings have a game tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Sutter will become the Kings coach on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Kings have lost six of their past seven games and are coming off an embarrassing, 8-2, loss to the Red Wings on Saturday.
