Canyon Girls Volleyball Team Beats St. Bonaventure, Stays Undefeated

khts_sportsThe Canyon girls volleyball team is playing perfectly these days. Canyon beat St. Bonaventure in four games to stay undefeated and run its record to 4-0.

Junior Morgan Fay led Canyon with 17 kills and 11 digs in the match. Courtney Spackman recorded 11 kills and 22 assists.

The Hart girls volleyball team was swept by La Canada in three games.

The College of the Canyons women’s volleyball team beat Victor Valley in three games and evened its record to 4-4.

Jennie Long had nine kills to lead COC. Kelsea Hundtoft had eight kills.

In high school golf, the Golden Valley girls lost by 30 strokes to Chaminade, 230-260, at the Malibu Golf Course.

Amanda Hobbs led Golden Valley with a 5-over par 41. Chaminade’s Isabelle Salcedo shot the low round of the match, an even par 36.

In baseball, the Angels are all of a sudden in the American League wild card hunt after a beating the Blue Jays last night.

The Angels won, 7-2. The Red Sox, the leaders in the AL wild card standings, lost to the Orioles, 6-4. The Rays were swept in a doubleheader by the Yankees, putting both the Rays and the Angels 2 ½ games behind the Red Sox.
