Canyon Receiver Drew Wolitarsky Sets School Record Against Beverly Hills

khts_sportsThe Canyon football team stayed undefeated with a 56-6 win over Beverly Hills. Receiver Drew Wolitarsky caught two touchdown passes, giving him 26 for his high school career, a Canyon record.

Running back Max Archuleta rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Jonathan Jerozal threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns for the 4-0 Cowboys.

The Hart football team won its fourth game in a row, 28-20, over Birmingham. Indians quarterback Cory Mayes threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran in a touchdown in the first half.

Receiver Tim White caught four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

The Valencia football team shut out Santa Monica, 17-0, riding another strong performance from the Vikings defense.

The Vikings forced three fumbles, had two interceptions and recorded three sacks against Santa Monica. Before the game, Santa Monica had not committed a turnover all season.

Running back Cody Anciano rushed for two touchdowns, including a 19-yarder in the third quarter.

The West Ranch football team lost its first game of the season, 35-0, to St. Francis.

St. Francis maintained its undefeated record and improved to 5-0. The Golden Knights scored four touchdowns in the first half and led 28-0 at halftime.

The Saugus football team lost to Woodland Hills Taft, 28-21, giving up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

The Centurions were up, 21-14, in the fourth quarter. Taft quarterback Jake Dashnaw threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to rally his team to victory.

Saugus quarterback Jared Carbajal scored two rushing touchdowns and gained 91 yards on the ground.

The Golden Valley football team lost to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 42-0. Golden Valley quarterback Reid Soliman threw for 178 yards.

The Trinity Classical Academy football team won its Omega League opener, 46-18, over Hillcrest Christian.

Wide receiver James Brooks caught four touchdown passes for Trinity.

The Santa Clarita Christian football team lost, 63-0, to Desert Christian, the No. 1 ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Northeastern Division.

It was the third loss in a row for Santa Clarita Christian.

The College of the Canyons football team lost to Grossmont, 38-14. COC quarterback Chris Rini threw for 170 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception.
