Canyon’s Cade Apsay Selected To CalHiSports All-State Football Team

Canyon High quarterback Cade Apsay was selected to the CalHiSports.com All-State Junior Third Team.

Apsay threw for 3,333 yards and 39 touchdowns in the fall for the Canyon football team.

Trinity Classical Academy quarterback Dakota Prochnow was selected as the Heritage League player of the year.

Prochnow threw for 1,757 yards and 25 touchdowns. He rushed for 825 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also caught three touchdown passes and had 205 receiving yards.

Prochnow also made an impact on defense with nine interceptions and 98 tackles.

Trinity’s Spencer Klehn was selected as the Heritage League offensive player of the year. Mike Buchanan was selected as the Heritage League coach of the year.

In all, 11 players from Trinity were selected to the All-Heritage League team.

In auto racing, Alex Tagliani will return as driver for the Barracuda Racing team owned by Valencia’s Bryan Herta in the Izod IndyCar Series.

Tagliani won the pole position at Texas Motor Speedway and led laps in five races last season for Barracuda Racing.

The IndyCar Series season opens on the Streets of St. Petersburg in Florida on March 24.

In the NBA, the Lakers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 106-93. Center Dwight Howard left the game with an aggravated shoulder.

The Lakers lost their fourth game in a row and end their road trip without a win.

In the NHL, the Kings are in Edmonton for a game against the Oilers tonight. The Kings have lost their first two games of the season.
