COC Cougars Headed For Western State Bowl

The College of the Canyons football team has received an invitation and will play in the Western State Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m., which will be hosted by Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.

 

The 12th-ranked Cougars finished the 2009 season in fourth place in the National Division, Northern Conference with a 3-3 record and 6-4 overall record while No. 8 Saddleback College was the third-place finisher in the National Division, Southern Conference.

 

This is the first time since 2006 that the Cougars have not made the playoffs. Since 2002, COC has made an appearance in the playoffs in six of the past seven seasons. The Cougars and Gauchos have met three times in the post-season with COC winning all three match ups.

Tickets for the game can be bought at Saddleback College the day of the game.
