COC Football Team Loses To Unranked Santa Barbara City College

news_sportsThe College of the Canyons football team lost to unranked Santa Barbara City College, 17-14, on Saturday.

Santa Barbara City College scored 14 points in the fourth quarter and railed to beat COC, the fifth-ranked team in the state.

 

The Santa Clarita Christian football team had no problem with visiting Christian Life Academy at Canyon High School.

Running back Collin Keoshian scored six touchdowns for Santa Clarita Christian in a 61-28 rout. Keoshian scored three rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns and returned an interception for a touchdown.

The Valencia and Hart football teams won nail-biters on Friday night. Valencia, the second-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division poll, beat Thousand Oaks, 39-36. Back-up quarterback Alex Guerra scored the winning touchdown on a 2-yard sneak with under two minutes to play.

Hart’s C.J. Reyes kicked a last-second field goal to give his team a 37-34 win over Palmdale, the No. 1 ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Western Division poll.

In other games, West Ranch beat Lancaster, 34-27, in overtime. Saugus beat Pasadena, 17-7; Canyon lost to Bakersfield, 43-7; and Golden Valley was shut out by Royal, 36-0.

West Ranch quarterback Connor Eichten threw three second-half touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime against Lancaster.
