COC Men’s Soccer Team Opens Playoffs Against Santa Barbara

sportslocalThe College of the Canyons men’s soccer team will begin the California Community College Athletic Association South Regional playoffs against Santa Barbara City College on Saturday.

Awaiting the winner of that game is Rio Hondo, the top-seeded team in the South Regional playoffs.

 

COC finished with a 12-6-2 record and are the eighth-seeded team in the men’s soccer tournament.

In high school tennis, the Valencia girls team lost to San Luis Obispo in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division III playoffs. In a match that took nearly four hours to complete, Valencia tied with San Luis Obispo, 9-9, but lost on games, 81-76.

In college basketball, the College of the Canyons women’s team will host Long Beach City College in its home opener tonight. The COC women are 0-2, losing two games in the Mt. SAC Tip-Off tournament.
