COC Men’s Soccer Team Rallies Over Citrus College

khts_sportsThe College of the Canyons men’s soccer team scored two second-half goals and beat Citrus College, 2-1, to remain unbeaten.

Marvin Delgado scored the game-winner in the 90th minute. Maayan Schrager tied the score with a goal in the 56th minute. COC is 4-0-5 after nine games.

The COC women’s soccer team shut out Glendale College 9-0 behind a hat trick from Elvia Contreras. Kaeli Rohland scored two goals and had an assist for COC.

The Master’s College women’s soccer team, ranked 14th in the NAIA, lost to 25th-ranked Westmont, 2-1. Natasha Coyle scored the lone goal for The Master’s College in the second half.

In college volleyball, The Master’s College women lost in four games to Concordia, the No. 3 team in the NAIA. Victoria Callihan and Samantha Dougherty each recorded a team-high 12 kills for The Master’s  College.

In high school volleyball, the Trinity Classical Academy girls beat Newbury Park Adventist in four games. Setter Lizzie McAdams had 26 assists for Trinity.

There are a full slate of girls volleyball games on tap for tonight. The Hart girls are at Saugus. The Canyon girls travel to Valencia. Golden Valley hosts West Ranch.

The College of the Canyons women are also on the road and play Citrus College.

In high school golf, the third Foothill League match of the season is scheduled this afternoon, weather permitting, at Vista Valencia.

In hockey, the Kings beat the Hamburg Freezers, 5-4, in an exhibition game in Germany. Anze Kopitar had a goal and two assists for the Kings. Justin Williams scored a goal and had an assist.
