COC Triple Jumper Set To Compete At Panamerican Junior Championships

College of the Canyons triple jumper Tim White is competing in the Panamerican Junior Championships in Colombia this weekend.

White is the US Junior Outdoor Track and Field champion in the triple jump. He set a school record at the US Junior National meet in 53 feet, 1 inch in June.

The VXII Panamerican Junior Championships, for athletes from North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, end on Sunday in Medellin, Colombia.

In high school football, the Hart Indians will play Santiago Corona in the first Game of the Week on Fox Sports West.

The game is in Corona on Aug. 30. The broadcast will start at 8:30.

Santiago was 6-5 and lost in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Inland Valley Division playoffs last year.

Hart was 8-4 and lost to Palos Verdes in the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Northern Division playoffs last year.

In baseball, the Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins, 4-1, scoring three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.

Hanley Ramirez was 2-for-4, scored two runs and drove in a run. Zack Greinke gave up one run on six hits in eight innings and won his 12th game of the season.

The Dodgers and Marlins conclude their series this morning in Miami.
