White is COC’s lone representative, having been named a Region III All-California First Team Offense selection, according to a news release.

“Tim White is very special athlete who has been recognized by community college coaches across the state as a truly premier player,” said College of the Canyons head coach Ted Iacenda. “By playing the slot and split end positions, lining up at times in the backfield, returning kicks and even playing defense, his effort this season was truly remarkable.”

A graduate of Hart High School, White hauled in 55 catches for 667 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 12.1 yards per catch to lead the Cougars in 2014, according to a news release.

As COC’s primary kick returner White also returned 29 kicks for 812 yards and a touchdown, including a long gain of 100 yards, according to a news release. He finished his sophomore season with 1,554 all-purpose yards for the Cougars.

“An athlete of Tim’s tremendous ability and exceptional mettle does not come around very often, and we are proud of all of his accomplishments,” said Iacenda. “We look forward to seeing Tim finish his degree this winter and, eventually, watching him play on Saturdays this upcoming season.”

Earlier this offseason, White was also named to the 2014 Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Northern League All-League team, earning a First Team offensive selection for his receiving skills and a First Team defensive selection for his prowess as a return specialist, according to a news release.

The All-California Community College Football Team is selected by the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA), in conjunction with the JC Athletic Bureau, according to the news release.
