COC Women’s Soccer Team Loses To Santa Ana College, 2-0

news_sportsThe College of the Canyons women’s soccer team lost to Santa Ana College, 2-0, yesterday. Carolina Dozal was busy in goal for COC. She made 12 saves in the loss and COC dropped to 1-2.

The College of the Canyons men’s soccer team is looking for its first win of the season. They take on San Bernardino Valley College today in San Bernardino. COC is 0-2. San Bernardino Valley College is 2-2-1.

 

The Hart girls golf team easily won its second match of the season. Quartz Hill did not have enough players to field a team and Hart won with a combined score of 201 at Valencia Country Club.

Brenna Carlson and Nikki Pritchard each shot 2-over par 38s to lead Hart, a perfect 2-0 to start the season.

The Valencia football team is ranked second in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division poll released on Tuesday. Saugus comes in at No. 4 and Canyon is ranked No. 8. Valencia, Saugus and Canyon open their seasons Friday night.

St. Bonaventura, 34-10 winners over St. John Bosco, is ranked No. 1 in the Northern Division.

The West Ranch girls volleyball team is ranked eighth in the CIF Southern Section Divison 1A preseason poll. Valencia, winners of the past seven Foothill League championships, was not ranked in the top 10.

Santa Barbara was ranked No. 1 in the Division 1A poll. West Ranch opens against Rio Mesa on Thursday.
