Lizzie Rivas scored a goal in the seventh minute to give COC a 1-0 lead. Kelsey Sherry made it 2-0 for COC with a goal in the 16th minute.
COC improved to 2-1-2 and is unbeaten in its past four games.
The Master’s College women’s soccer team is ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, moving up five spots in the national poll.
The Lady Mustangs are undefeated at 7-0. Their most recent win came against Southern Oregon, 2-1 in overtime.
The Master’s College women play Cal State San Marcos, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, at home on Saturday.
In college volleyball, The Master’s College women are ranked No. 22 in the NAIA. The Lady Mustangs are 10-2 and will play Biola, ranked No.3 in the NAIA, on Saturday.
In high school golf, the West Ranch girls beat Burbank by 52 strokes in a match at Vista Valencia.
Kate Caffrey shot the low round for West Ranch, a 6-over 39.
In baseball, the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks, 9-3, and snapped a four-game losing streak.
Matt Kemp made his first start since July and went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.
The Dodgers magic number to clinch the National League West championship is two.
Steven Fife will get the chance to clinch the division for the Dodgers tonight against the Diamondbacks.
