College Of The Canyons Cross Country Series Continues Tonight With Race No. 4

Race No. 4 in the College of the Canyons Cross Country Series is tonight.

Rodrigo Ornelas won his second race of the summer series last week at College of the Canyons. He completed the course in 15 minutes, 40.7 seconds.

Enrique Ramirez was second in 15 minutes, 47.5 seconds. Jeffery Jackson was third in 15 minutes, 54.2 seconds.

Roni Yamane was the top-finishing woman in the third race of the cross country series. She finished in 18 minutes, 46.0 seconds.

In auto racing, Axcil Jefferies, a driver from Zimbabwe, will make his American debut with Bryan Herta Autosport in the Firestone Indy Lights Series race this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The team is owned by Valencia’s Bryan Herta. Jefferies posted eight top-10 finishes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship last year.

The Indy Lights race at Mid-Ohio is on Sunday.

In baseball, the Dodgers lost to the visiting New York Yankees, 3-0. The Yankees scored three runs in the ninth inning to break a scoreless tie.

Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw pitched eight shutout innings and lowered his National League leading ERA to 1.87.

The Dodgers are 10-2 since the All-Star break and lead the National League West standings by 2 ½ games over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers are off the Chicago to start a weekend series against the Cubs tonight.

Ricky Nolasco starts for the Dodgers. Chris Rusin gets the nod for the Cubs.
