Dodgers Go For The Sweep In NLDS Tonight In Arizona

The Dodgers’ offense came alive at Dodger Stadium (outscoring Arizona 17-10) over the weekend and can slam the door shut on the Diamondbacks’ season with another strong performance at Chase Field, Monday night.

Los Angeles received contributions up and down the lineup, with Justin Turner (batting third) hitting a three-run homer and driving in five runs in Friday’s win, and Yasiel Puig (batting eighth) had three hits and two RBIs Saturday, including the emphatic bat flips and animated energy that propelled the Dodgers to victory.

Former Dodger Zack Greinke takes the mound for the D-Backs on the brink of elimination, as the Dodgers send trade deadline pickup Yu Darvish. It was a high stakes postseason road start like tonight which was the very reason the Dodgers made the move to acquire the former Texas Rangers ace.

First pitch for Game 3 of the NLDS is at 7:08, and be sure to listen to all the playoff action live on your Dodgers station, KHTS!

KHTS Game of the Week

5 Valencia (5-1, 1-0): 42

Hart (3-3, 0-1): 14

Valencia quarterback Connor Downs threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of Friday’s Foothill League opener at College of the Canyons as the Vikings put up 42 points on the Hart Indians and cruised to victory.

The theme of the Indians season has become the inconsistency of the offense. It was the fifth time in six games that Hart has been shut out in the first half. Combined with committing four turnovers, and there is no chance to keep up with an offense that is averaging just under 45 points per game.

Just another Foothill League win for the Vikings, who have won 28 straight dating back to the 2011 season.

Saugus (3-3, 1-0): 17

4 Golden Valley (3-3, 0-1): 0

Saugus pitches the shutout over Golden Valley and keeps the perfect record against the Grizzlies in tact.

Playoff implications abound this week for the Centurions. They host the undefeated West Ranch Wildcats in the KHTS Game of the Week.

For the reeling Grizzlies, it gets no easier, on the road at Valencia.

9 Canyon (3-3, 0-1): 14

4 West Ranch (5-0, 1-0): 35

West Ranch moves to 5-0 for the first time in school history after scoring 35 unanswered points agaisnt Canyon.

Trinity (2-4): 7

Santa Clara: 42

Knights drop to 2-4 on the season and limp into league play next week with a ton of injuries.

6 Santa Clarita Christian (6-0): 22

Saddleback Valley Christian: 19

The Cardinals moved to 6-0 on the year after last night’s historic win over the Warriors. Not only was it the Cardinals’ first win over the reigning San Joaquin League champs, it was Saddleback’s first loss in league play since 2009.

SCCS has the inside track at a league championship with their final three league opponents a combined 6-12.
