Dodgers Go For Series Win Over Cubs In Matinee Game At Dodger Stadium

L.A. took care of business last night, defeating the Cubs 7-5 and clubbing three more home runs. That puts the Dodgers at 51 for the month, two behind their franchise record’s 53, hit in June 2017.

Max Muncy and the Dodgers look to put away the National League Wild Card leading Chicago Cubs in Thursday’s day game at Dodger Stadium. Muncy, who hit another homer last night, upped his season total to 16. That’s tied with Cody Bellinger for most on the team (Bellinger also hit his 16th in Wednesday’s game).

Muncy isn’t the only unlikely Dodger turning into a summer slugger; Jod Pederson has also come alive in June. Pederson hit his tenth home run of the month yesterday, nearly 1/5th of the Dodgers June total. He’s also hitting .309 with five doubles.

Thursday afternoon, Clayton Kershaw continues to get back in form after his latest stint on the disabled list (back). He will make his second start since returning to the team.

Walker Buehler is also expected to make an appearance, after he was reinstated to the lineup of the 10-day disabled list.

The Dodgers are finally getting healthy, and everyone collectively exhaled a sigh of relief.

First pitch is at 12:10 from Chavez Ravine.
