Much like in the previous series, the Dodgers can and must shrug off a Game 1 loss to leave Red Sox with the series tied at 1-1.
Don’t let the 8-4 scoreline fool you, the Dodgers competed hard in Game 1 and it was much closer than it appeared. Like always, championships come down to a play or two and on Monday night the Red Sox made one or two more than the Dodgers.
That script could easily be flipped tonight in Game 2.
The Dodgers have played some of their most sound baseball in Game 2’s so far in the 2018 postseason. A 3-0 win over Atlanta in Game 1 of the Division round. A 4-3 victory over the Brewers at Miller Park, coming back from down 3-2 in the eighth inning on a Justin Turner home run. It proved to be crucial to their advancement to the World Series with the Brewers taking Game 3 in Los Angeles.
The same can be said here for the Dodgers chances in the World Series. Boston is an excellent road team. L.A. has proven it is too. The pressure is on the Red Sox and David Price to hold serve. Can the Dodgers unnerve him?
Hyun-Jin Ryu must recover from his NLCS Game 6 performance and be the guy who allowed just three runs in 30 and 1/3 innings of work before that.
Ryu vs Price, World Series Game 2, coming up at 5:09 PM PST. Listen live on your home for the World Series, KHTS FM 98.1.
