Dodgers Pound Brewers 21-5 To Earn Series Split

The Dodgers battered the Brewers for seven home runs, including a Cody Bellinger grand slam and two apiece from Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson. Others to get involved were the newly acquired Brian Dozier and fresh-off-the-disabled-list Justin Turner.

Nine runs in the seventh inning. The most runs ever scored at Dodger Stadium. Four players with four RBI or more.

The Dodgers reached powerful offensive heights in Thursday’s series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. After being held to three runs in the first two games of the series, Los Angeles exploded in the final two to outscore Milwaukee 27-9 in the final two.

L.A. jumped ahead of two teams to move to sixth in MLB in runs scored on the season. It’s an important development for the offense with the team scoring the fourth-most runs in town for a weekend series.

The team that just so happens to be the defending champion. A rematch of the 2017 World Series begins tonight at Chavez Ravine with Justin Verlander of the Houston Astros facing the Dodgers’ Alex Wood.

There will be a buzz and a World Series-like atmosphere in the stadium no doubt with it being the first time these two teams have met since Game 7 of the 2017 Fall Classic.

Additionally, fans will be treated to a special pre-game celebration honoring a Dodger great.

Andre Ethier’s retirement ceremony will be held prior to first pitch to celebrate his illustrious 12-year career. It will be hosted and emceed by Dodgers superfan Jason Bateman.

Not only is Ethier in the top ten of every major offensive statistical category for the club, he’s also long been revered for his work and donations to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Jackie Robinson Foundation and his own Ethier Family Scholars.

First pitch of tonight’s game is at 7:10, and if you’re headed to the park be sure to arrive early for the pre-game festivities.
