Dodgers Sweep Diamondbacks Punching Ticket To National League Championship Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a 3-0 sweep over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, and looked a lot more like the formidable club from the summer than the one that slumped toward the end of the regular season. One thing is certain, the confidence and swagger is back at Chavez Ravine.

Monday was as textbook a closeout game could be in the MLB postseason for the LA Dodgers.

Strong starting pitching from Yu Darvish (first career playoff win, five innings, one earned run, seven strikeouts), check.

Dominant relief pitching from four different pitchers (one hit and no walks in four innings of work), check.

Timely, clutch power hitting (homers from Cody Bellinger and Austin Barnes), check.

The Dodgers 3-1 victory brought the three-game run differential against the D-Backs to 20-11 and bragging rights within the NL West for the rest of the year.

LA now has a few days of rest while the Cubs/Nationals series finishes up and will host one of those teams on Saturday at Dodger Stadium. Four wins away from the World Series.
