Dodgers “Think Blue” Week During Final Home Stand

Team will unveil top 50 moments in Los Angeles Dodgers
history throughout week.

[view:node_ad=5]The Los Angeles Dodgers will play the San Francisco Giants
(Sept. 19-21) and San Diego Padres (Sept. 23-25) during their final homestand
of the regular season, which is also Think Blue Week, the Dodgers’ Fan
Appreciation Week.

 

During the week, the team will give back to fans to thank
them for their support throughout the season. The Dodgers will also unveil the
top 50 moments in Los Angeles Dodgers history, as voted on by fans at
www.dodgers.com. Ten moments will be unveiled each day, and the Dodgers’
all-time team will be celebrated on the final day of the regular season.

 

Think Blue Week also includes the Dodgers’ 11th annual “Viva
Los Dodgers” celebration, which will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 1-6 p.m. at Dodger Stadium before the 7:10 p.m. game against the San Francisco
Giants. The festival, which is presented by Coca-Cola and Toyota
, will include live music, a Manny Ramirez look-alike contest, special
appearances by Dodger Spanish Broadcasters Fernando Valenzuela, Jaime Jarrín,
and Pepe Yñiguez, and interactive family-friendly areas. Musical guests will
include Titanes de Durango, Dareyes de la Sierra, Lalo Mora, special guest Don
Cheto, and a battle of the Norteña and Banda bands. The game is sold out, but
fans can enter the festival for free with a game ticket for the Dodger games on
Sept. 21, 23, 24, or 25.

 

Special guests throughout the homestand include two-time
Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla, actor Arsenio Hall, actor Michael
Chiklis, and Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The Dodgers will also continue to honor United States Olympians, including Beijing
medalists Ryan Millar (Men’s Volleyball), Ronda Rousey (Women’s Judo), Rebecca
Soni (Women’s Swimming), and Jason Lezak (Men’s Swimming).

Fans at the Friday, September 19 game will receive a Dodgers
golden moment flip book, courtesy of the Los Angeles County
Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. On Fan Appreciation Day, Sunday, September 21,
the Dodgers will raffle off more than 150 prizes to fans throughout the game.
Kids at the Tuesday, September 23 game will receive baseball cards as part of
Topps Tuesday and on the final day of the season, fans will receive 2009 Team
Photo Calendars, presented by State Farm.

 

Homestand Highlights:

Friday, September 19 vs. San Francisco
Giants – 7:40 p.m.

The Dodgers will kick off Think Blue Week, their Fan
Appreciation Week, by giving fans at Friday’s game Dodgers golden moment flip
books, courtesy of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. The
team will also unveil the first ten moments in Dodger history (moments 50-41),
as voted on by fans at www.dodgers.com, during the game.

Rick Monday will sign copies of his book, “Tales from the
Dodger Dugout” outside of the Top of the Park store from 5:45 p.m. through the end of the first inning.

Friday is the first annual national RESPECT Day, and Joe
Torre will join in the campaign to rally for respect and speak out about abuse
against women and children. Torre will participate in pre-game ceremonies
promoting the RESPECT campaign.

Olympic Volleyball Gold Medalist Ryan Millar, who visited
Dodger Stadium just prior to leaving for China
, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The U.S. Men’s Volleyball Team went
undefeated in play in Beijing .

California Secretary of State Debra Bowen will throw out a
ceremonial first pitch on behalf of the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County
Clerk.

During the game, three lucky contestants will have an
opportunity to win a 2008 Chevy Malibu. The winner will be unveiled on
DodgerVision after the sixth inning.

Saturday, September 20 vs. San
Francisco Giants – 7:10
p.m.

Saturday is the Dodgers’ 11th annual “Viva Los Dodgers”
celebration, presented by Coca-Cola and Toyota
. The festival will run from 1-6 p.m.
in Dodger Stadium’s Parking Lot 1. The community festival includes live music,
a Manny Ramirez look-alike contest, special appearances by Dodger Spanish
Broadcasters Fernando Valenzuela, Jaime Jarrín, and Pepe Yñiguez, and
interactive family-friendly areas. The game is sold out, but fans can enter the
festival for free with a game ticket for the Dodger games on Sept. 21, 23, 24,
or 25.

Before the game, to continue the “Viva” festivities, the
Dodgers will honor two-time Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla with a
ceremonial first pitch. The composer and lyricist’s credits include Oscars for
Best Original Score for “ Brokeback Mountain
” in 2005 and Best Original Score for “ Babel
” in 2006.  He also won a Grammy Award in
2004 for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, “Cuatro Caminos.” In-game
entertainment on Saturday will include a variety of Latin music and special
video tributes.

Saturday is Filipino Community Night at Dodger Stadium and
Kim’s Hapkido will perform karate on the field before the game. The Dodgers
will also celebrate Tommy Lasorda’s 81st birthday, and Tommy will be honored on
the field with his family. The Dodgers’ Branch Rickey Minor Leaguers of the
Year, pitcher James McDonald and infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr., will be honored on
the field as well.

Actor Arsenio Hall, who stars in the upcoming movie “Igor,”
will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, as will United States Judo Olympic
Bronze medalist Ronda Rousey. Rousey is originally from Santa
Monica and is the first female American judoka to ever
win an Olympic medal.

Proceeds from Saturday’s silent auction, which is located on
the club level outside of the Vin Scully press box, will go to the Manny Mota
International Foundation, which benefits underprivileged, disadvantaged youth
in the United States
and the Dominican Republic
. Over 100 items, featuring autographed memorabilia from various Major League
players, will be auctioned off.

The Dodgers will unveil Moments No. 40 through 31 in Dodger
history, as voted by the fans, throughout the game.

 

Sunday, September 21 vs. San Francisco
Giants – 1:10 p.m.

Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day, and the Dodgers will raffle
off more than 150 prizes to fans throughout the game. Prizes include a pair of
2009 Dodgers’ season seats, a $500 gift certificate to Niketown, a Sony PSP, an
FSN Prime Ticket behind-the-scenes tour, a 42” LCD television courtesy of Best
Buy, Clippers, Kings, and Avengers tickets, two tickets to the Madonna concert
at Dodger Stadium on November 6, and a 2008 Toyota Matrix.

 

This season Farmer John is donating $500 to the UCLA Mattel
Children’s Hospital for every save a Dodger records. Before Sunday’s game,
Farmer John will present a check for $16,500 to children from Mattel before the
game.

 

Sunday is California State University Day, and more than 500
alumni of California State Universities will be in attendance. It is also Deaf
Awareness Day, and a group of 20 students from South
Hills High School
will sign the National Anthem. Students from LAUSD and California
School for the Deaf are among the
1,200 that will be in attendance for the event.

 

Actor Michael Chiklis of the upcoming movie “Eagle Eye” will
throw out a ceremonial first pitch, as will Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest-ranking military officer in the
United States Armed Forces. The Dodgers are proud to salute the principal
military adviser to the President of the United
States that represents all military
personnel: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.

 

The Dodgers will also pay tribute to 50 years of NASA space
travel with a special pregame ceremony on Sunday. Astronaut Garret E. Reisman
Ph.D., who served with both the Expedition-16 and the Expedition-17 crews as a
Flight Engineer aboard the International Space Station, will present a photo of
Dodger Stadium from space to Special Advisor to the Chairman Tommy Lasorda and
the Dodgers.

The Dodgers will announce Moments No. 30 through 21 in
Dodger history, as voted by the fans, throughout the game.

Tuesday, September 23 vs. San Diego
Padres – 7:10 p.m.

The Dodgers will honor Special Advisor to the Chairman Dr.
Frank Jobe for his innovative work in sports surgery before Tuesday’s game.
Special guests will include Tommy John, Orel Hershiser, and Darren Dreifort.
Andre Ethier will also be honored by Farmers Insurance during pregame
ceremonies for receiving the September Player of the Month Award.

Children age 14 and under will receive free baseball cards
as part of Topps Tuesday.

The Dodgers will announce Moments No. 20 through 11 in
Dodger history, as voted by the fans, throughout the game.

 

Wednesday, September 24 vs. San Diego
Padres – 7:10 p.m.

The Dodgers will honor the Los Angeles RBI World
Series-Champion Senior Boys Team before the game, as well as the Sheriff
Department’s Medal of Valor recipients.

The Dodgers will also recognize all employees with 25 or
more years of service to the organization on the field before the game.

Fernando Valenzuela will host his Amigos de Fernando program
before the game as well. A group of children from Henry
T. GageMiddle
School in Huntington Park
, the largest middle school in LAUSD, will get to watch batting practice on the
field with Valenzuela. Each child will receive dinner courtesy of Panda Express
and a program T-shirt.

The Dodgers will unveil the Top Ten moments in Los Angeles
Dodgers history during the game.

Thursday, September 25 vs. San Diego
Padres – 7:10 p.m.

Olympic Gold Medalists Rebecca Soni and Jason Lezak will
throw out a ceremonial first pitch, as will Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood.”
Soni, who is currently a student at USC and lives in Los
Angeles , won a gold medal in the 200 breaststroke and
a silver in the 100 breaststroke in Beijing
. Lezak is originally from Irvine
and won an individual bronze medal in Beijing
in the 100 freestyle. He was also the anchor leg of the World Record-setting
400 freestyle relay.

Sharp will honor Manny Ramirez as the National League Player
of the Month for August on the field before the game and the Dodgers will also
announce the winner of the Roy Campanella Award, which is given annually to the
Dodger that best exemplifies the spirit and leadership of the late Roy
Campanella.

Samsung will give out free “Safe at Home” T-shirts to fans
at Thursday’s game. The Safe at Home Foundation, founded by Joe Torre, educates
children about violence in the home. Samsung will also present a check for
$65,000, one for each of the 65 Dodger home runs hit at Dodger Stadium, to
Torre and the Foundation on the field before the game.

As the finale of Think Blue Week, the All-Time Los Angeles
Dodgers Team, as voted on by fans at www.dodgers.com, will be unveiled.

On their way out of the stadium on Thursday, fans will
receive the 2009 Team Photo Calendar, presented by State Farm.
