Dodgers To Face Division Rivals In Homestand

San Diego and Arizona come to town for a six-game set

[view:node_ad=5]The Los Angeles Dodgers will have 18 games remaining in the regular season when they open their next homestand Tuesday, September 11 against the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers will play a three-game set against the Padres (Sept. 11-13) followed by a three-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks (Sept. 14-16).

With the three teams separated by a handful of games in the Division and wildcard race, this homestand is likely the most important one of the season.

Some highlights of the homestand include:

TUESDAY, September 11 vs. Padres – 7:10 p.m.

In recognition of the heroes who both contributed to the rescue efforts and lost their lives on September 11, 2001, the Dodgers will host their annual “Heroes Night.” This year the Los Angeles Fire Department will be honored for their efforts in fighting the Esperanza Fire. The LAFD will coordinate a pre-game fly-over and children of the firefighters who died in the Esperanza Fire will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Rick Monday will be at the Frank Hotskins Training Center for a player meet and greet with all public safety officers.

 

Rosalind Curry from the Los Angeles Police Department will perform God Bless America and the National Anthem during the pregame.

Other guests and representatives who will be introduced on the field prior to the start of the game include:

LASD – Sheriff Lee Baca

LA County Sheriff ’s Department – Sheriff Margaret York and Asst. Chief Steve Lieberman

LAFD – Fire Chief Douglas Barry

US Marines – Major James Zepko, Commanding Officer, U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Los Angeles and Captain Craig Flowers, Executive Officer, U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Los Angeles

ATF – John A. Torres, Special Agent, Department of Justice – Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) Los Angeles Field Division

Los Angeles School Police Department – Chief Larry Manion

CHP – Gary Dominguez

Other events scheduled for the pregame include a visit from Repko’s Dream Team, a group of 12 from the Department of Children and Family Services, who will meet Jason Repko on the field prior to the game and have their picture taken with him.

It is an ampm All-You-Can-Eat $25 Super Saver Night.

WEDNESDAY, September 12 vs. Padres – 7:10 p.m.   

It is an ampm All-You-Can-Eat $25 Super Saver Night.  Coca-Cola Family Four Packs (four tickets, four Dodger Dogs, four Cokes) are available for $62.

 

THURSDAY, September 13 vs. Padres – 7:10 p.m.

The Dodgers will honor the LA County Sheriff’s Department Medal of Valor winners, along with the latest Toyota Heroes de la Communidad, during the pregame.

 

As part of Amigos de Fernando, a group of 40 from Padres Contra el Cancer will be on the field to meet Fernando Valenzuela before the game. Founded in 1985, this organization brings together children, families, healthcare professionals and community leaders to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders, as well as effective methods for their treatment. They currently remain the only Latino organization of its kind operating within the United States .

 

Repko’s Dream Team, another group of 12 from the Department of Children and Family Services, will meet Jason Repko on the field prior to the game and have their picture taken with him.

 

Cirivello’s in Long Beach , a participant in the Dodgers’ Home Base Network, will host a viewing party for Dodger fans. Former Dodger great Kenny Landreaux will make an appearance from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

It is also an ampm All-You-Can-Eat $25 Super Saver Night.

 

FRIDAY, September 14 vs. Diamondbacks – 7:40 p.m.

In recognition of Tommy Lasorda’s 80th birthday, the first 50,000 fans in attendance will receive a special edition Tommy Lasorda Bobblehead compliments of FSN Prime Ticket. Special guests will be on hand to honor Lasorda during the pregame and a video tribute will be played.

 

During the pregame ceremonies Cacique will present a check to the Dodgers Dream Foundation for $100 for every double play the Dodgers have registered so far during the season.

 

Derek Lowe will be introduced during the pregame as the 2007 Roberto Clemente Award nominee for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fans will determine the winner by logging on to mlb.com/chevy21 where they can vote from September 5 through October 5.

 

SATURDAY, September 15 vs. Diamondbacks – 12:55 p.m.

 

The time for this game has changed to 12:55 p.m. and will be televised by FOX.

Prior to the game Farmer John will recognize its newest Employee of Month.

 

SUNDAY, September 16 vs. Diamondbacks – 1:10 p.m.

This is a Blue Crew day where members can redeem their membership card for the latest Dodger promotional item.
