Dodgers World Series Hopes Resting On Rich Hill In Game 6

The 37-Year-Old left hander will take the mound on Halloween to stave off elimination and force the winner-take-all Game 7 on Wednesday.

Home teams that in Game 6 when down 3-2 in the World Series have won exactly half the time (14 out of 28). Statistically speaking, tonight’s game is a 50/50 shot for Los Angeles.

If the Dodgers are going to force Game 7, it’s imperative they get a strong performance from their starting pitcher. The Dodgers bullpen is running on fumes after working 21 2/3 innings over the past four games. Brandon Morrow’s four runs off six pitches is a prime example of a the pen’s fatigue as a whole. He has appeared in every game of the World Series.

Rich Hill must shorten the game and rise above the pressure of World Series elimination.

The good news for LA is that Cody Bellinger and the Dodgers bats have been hot since the ninth inning of Game 4. Bellinger started the series 0-for-13, and since that point has hit four extra base hits.

From the ninth inning of Game 4 to now, the Dodgers have scored 17 runs. That’s 17 runs in 10 innings. Momentum is difficult to carry over from game to game, but the Dodgers should have confidence that they can put runs on the board if they need to.

First pitch of Game 6 is at 5:20 tonight. Listen to every inning of World Series baseball on your Dodgers station, KHTS.
