Basketball: Golden Valley beats Canyon; West Ranch downs Saugus.
In high school basketball, Hart High’s Parker Dominguez scored 23 points and had seven assists in a 75-65 come-from-behind win over
Valencia on Tuesday night. In other games, David Franklin scored 21 points for West Ranch High in a 68-58 win over
Saugus and Maverick Ahanmisi scored 20 points and had seven rebounds for
Golden Valley in a 63-49 win over Canyon.
On the girls’ side, Nicole Hicks scored 24 points for
Saugus in a 54-38 win over West Ranch. Layana White scored 21 points for Canyon in a 70-40 win over
Golden Valley and
Valencia beat Hart, 62-53.

On the soccer field, the Saugus High girls team got three goals from three different players in a 3-0 win over West Ranch. Erin Ortega, Brittanie Sakajian and Shannon Suarez each scored a goal as
Saugus improved to 13-2-3 overall, 5-1-1 in Foothill League play.
The Valencia High girls beat Hart, 3-2.
Valencia and
Saugus are tied for first place in Foothill League.
Santa Clarita Christian scored seven goals and shut out
Providence
High School . Amanda Doty scored four goals in the first half for Santa Clarita Christian.
The Canyon boys soccer team got a goal from Juan Munoz and beat
Golden Valley 1-0.
College basketball
It was tough night for The Master’s College basketball teams. The men lost to Azusa Pacific, 81-61. Dean Hadley and Ryan Zamroz each scored 14 points for The Master’s College in the loss.
On the women’s side, The Master’s College lost to Azusa Pacific 80-75. Erica Inge scored 22 points and had eight assists for The Master’s College.
