Hildebrand led 56 laps in the IndyCar Series season finale at Auto Club Speedway last year and finished in 11th place.

Filippi will drive the Barracuda Racing car in the Grand Prix of Baltimore and the doubleheader weekend for the Grand Prix of Houston.

In golf, Valencia High graduate Max Homa shot a 1-over 71 in the second round of stroke play at the US Amateur Championship at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.

Homa did not make the cut for match play in the US Amateur Championship.

In baseball, the Dodgers beat the visiting New York Mets, 4-2, and won their seventh game in a row.

Nick Punto and AJ Ellis drove in two runs each. The Dodgers are 22-3 in their past 25 games. They are in first place in the National League West standings and 7 ½ games ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers can go for the sweep of the Mets tonight at Dodger Stadium.

About Connie Jones

Connie and her husband, John, moved to the Santa Clarita Valley almost 30 years ago. Living in Santa Clarita for that long is the direct opposite of Connie’s childhood. She was an Army ‘brat’ who moved every two to three years. Consequently, she has lived in many states and even spent three years in Europe. All three of her kids went to Santa Clarita schools. Connie says the best thing about her job at KHTS is that she is never bored. “If I’m not smiling, Carl is sure to ask why, just before giving me a mind-boggling project.” “KHTS AM-1220 is an integral part of our community and I’m glad to be a part of it. Besides, the DJs will take my request to play Shania Twain’s ‘Still the One’ for my wedding anniversary – gotta love that!”
