J.J. Arrington makes most of his time in big game.
J.J. Arrington, who played for the College of the Canyons football team before heading to UC Berkeley and the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL, is the first player from COC to play in a Super Bowl since the football program returned to the school in 1998.
Arrington, a running back for the Cardinals, caught two passes for 35 yards in Super Bowl XLIII. The Cardinals lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-23, but Arrington had a key play in the fourth quarter. He caught a 22-yard pass from quarterback Kurt Warner on second and four. The play gave the Cardinals a first down on the Steelers’ 28-yard line and led to a touchdown.
