Four members of the Hart girls golf team advanced to the CIF Southern Section individual finals.
Brenna Carlson, Kendall Dusenberry, Nikki Prichard and Amanda Corr each advanced after making the cut at the CIF Southern Section Northern Individual Regional at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai on Tuesday. Carlson led the way for the Hart girls with a 1-under par, 71. Dusenberry shot 1-over par, 73.
Westlake’s Danielle Kang won the Northern Individual Regional in a playoff. She shot a 4-under par 68 and won medalist honors on the first playoff hole over Emily Tubert from Burroughs High in Burbank.
The CIF Southern Section individual finals are Nov. 12 at Talega Golf Club in San Clemente.
In high school volleyball, the Valencia girls team beat Canyon in four games and won at least a share of its eighth straight Foothill League championship. Katie Hank had a team-best seven kills for Valencia.
Hart took care of Saugus in a three-game sweep. Breena Beckett had 13 kills and four blocks for Hart.
West Ranch beat Golden Valley in three games. Hannah Orlandi had 11 kills to lead West Ranch.
In college soccer, The Master’s College women’s soccer team was knocked out of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament, 1-0, in the first round by Pt. Loma Nazarene.
Pt. Loma Nazarene, the No. 14 team in the NAIA, scored a goal in the first half and it stood up against The Master’s College.
Amanda Durocher made six saves in goal for The Master’s College, but Brooke Winklepleck scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute.
The College of the Canyons women’s soccer team got two goals from Ashley Hill in a 4-0 win over Citrus College. Hill added an assist on Katherine Hall’s goal in the first half. Nicole Quintanilla got College of the Canyons on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 19th minute.
