Golden Valley Boys Basketball Team Loses First Game Of Chaminade Tournament

sportsgoldenvalleyThe Golden Valley boys basketball team, fresh off winning the San Fernando Valley Invitational, lost its opening-round game of the Chaminade tournament.

Playing without Trevor Wiseman, Golden Valley lost to Granada Hills, 70-56. Wiseman injured his ankle in the championship game of the San Fernando Valley Invitational on Wednesday and missed the first game of the Chaminade tournament. He scored 37 points against Granada Hills in a 74-49 win in the championship game of the San Fernando Valley Invitational.

 

Taylor Statham scored a team-high 18 points for Golden Valley against Granada Hills in the Chaminade tournament on Saturday.

The Valencia boys team is alive in the championship bracket of the Chaminade tournament after a 83-41 win over St. Bonaventure. Lonnie Jackson scored 26 points for Valencia.

The West Ranch girls basketball team opened the West Coast Holiday Invitational with a 68-64 win over Newbury Park. Kaylyn Tarver scored a team-high 14 points for West Ranch. Brittani Walker added 12 and Noelle Zavala 10 points in the win at Harvard-Westlake.

The Valencia girls won their first-round game in the West Coast Holiday Invitational, 63-49, over Marlborough. Lauren Spago scored 21 points for Valencia. Jenny Lentz had 13 points and Lindsey Hill chipped in with 12.

It wasn’t such a great start for the Saugus girls in the West Coast Holiday Invitational. Saugus lost to Chatsworth, 58-33. Megan Dawe scored 17 points and Kim Smither scored 10 for Saugus.

The Canyon girls downed La Salle, 60-48, in the opening round of the La Canada tournament. Brooke Lemar scored 14 points for Canyon. Adriana Dent and Kayla Michel each scored 11 points.
