Golden Valley’s Elisa Pierre shot a 3-over 74 in the CIF State Individual Girls Golf Championship at the Quail Lodge Golf Course in Carmel.
She finished in a tie for eighth place, seven shots off the lead. Andrea Lee of Mira Costa won the CIF individual state championship with a 4-under 67.

Pierre had two birdies, a bogey and two double bogeys in her round.
She concludes her sophomore season as the Foothill League MVP and led Golden Valley to its first Foothill League championship.

In high school tennis, the Hart girls won their first-round match over Palisades in the CIF United States Tennis Association Southern California Regional Girls Championship.
The Hart girls, seeded No. 13 in the Southern California Regional, upset fourth-seeded Palisades, 5-2. Palisades won the CIF Los Angeles City Section championship.
The three Hart singles players won six sets. No. 1 singles player Natalia Munoz won her sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Hart plays Campbell Hall, the No. 5 seed, in the second round of the Southern California Regionals on Friday at the Claremont Club.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 102-98, behind Chris Paul’s record-setting night. Paul recorded his 12th double-double to start the season.
He scored 20 points and had 11 assists and has the most consecutive double-doubles in points and assists to start a season.
The Clippers are back in action tonight against the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
In the NHL, the Kings host the New Jersey Devils tonight at Staples Center. The Kings are coming off a 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday and have won four games in a row.
