Greg Pursley Tied For Lead In NASCAR West Series Standings

Canyon High graduate Greg Pursley is tied for the lead in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West standings after a third-place finish at Phoenix International Raceway on Thursday.

Pursley and David Mayhew each have 320 points to lead the West Series standings.

Eric Holmes, a two-time West Series champion, won the race in Phoenix.

In the Firestone Indy Lights series, the drivers for Bryan Herta Autosport are preparing for the inaugural Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday.

Stefan Wilson, one of two drivers for the team owned by Bryan Herta, a Valencia resident and Hart High graduate, finished third in the season-opening Indy Lights race in St. Petersburg, Fla. Sebastian Saavedra, the other driver for Bryan Herta Autosport, finished 12th at St. Petersburg.
