College of the Canyons

Both COC basketball teams host Bakersfield today in the penultimate game of the regular season.

The Lady Cougars are two games away from a perfect Western State Conference seasons, and the Cougars are going for their fourth consecutive win, respectively.

Tip-off is at 5:00 (women’s) and 7:00 (men’s).

2018 Winter Olympics

Shaun White, already one of the most decorated extreme sports athletes in history, added to his Olympic feats with his third gold medal in the Men’s Halfpipe event.

It just so happened to make history as the 100th medal in the Winter Olympics for the United States.

White needed his best in his third and final run after trailing 19-year-old Ayumu Hirano, who won silver for Japan. The Southern California native landed back-to-back 1440’s for the first time in competition to claim the gold with a 97.75 score.

The win made it four straight gold medals for USA in snowboarding events.

Los Angeles Lakers

Isaiah Thomas will play his second game in the purple and gold tonight, as the Lakers visit the New Orleans Pelicans. It’s the first of a back-to-back heading into the All-Star Break. Thursday, they’ll be in Minnesota.

Then, it’s eight days off for the Break before returning to Staples Center against the Dallas Mavericks.

LONZO BALL UPDATE: the Lakers top draft pick from 2017 appears on track to return shorty after the All-Star Break, possibly as soon as February 23 against Dallas (sprained MCL).
