Hart Boys, Valencia Girls Ranked In CIF Top 10 Soccer Polls

The Hart boys soccer team is ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 poll after an impressive run through its own Hart Showcase tournament.

Hart reached the championship game of the tournament and lost, 1-0, to Crescenta Valley, the No. 1 ranked team in the Southern Section Division 3 poll.

Santa Clarita High School Sports

The Valencia girls are in a three-way tie for the No. 10 spot in the Southern Section Division 2 poll.

Long Beach Poly and West Torrance are also ranked No. 10. Mira Costa is No. 1.

Valencia won the Hart Showcase tournament, shutting out Hart, 1-0, in the championship game.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls moved up to No. 2 in the Southern Section Division 7 poll. Marshall from Pasadena is No. 1.

The Cardinals are 5-0-2 and have a three-game winning streak.

Master’s College Sports

In college basketball, The Master’s College men lost to UC Santa Barbara, 81-52, in an exhibition game over the weekend.

Derrick Fain scored 13 points to lead The Master’s College. The Mustangs are back in the NAIA and on the road against Cal State San Marcos for a game tonight.

The Master’s College women beat Cal State San Marcos, 89-60, and won their sixth game in a row.

The Lady Mustangs, ranked No. 12 in the NAIA, are 11-3 and 8-1 at home.

The Master’s College women play La Sierra on Thursday.

BCS National Championship Results

In college football, Florida State beat Auburn, 34-31, in the BCS championship game at the Rose Bowl.

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Benjamin with 13 seconds left in the game to take the lead in the final BCS championship game.

Los Angeles Sports Report

In the NBA, the Clippers, minus Chris Paul, beat the lowly Orlando Magic, 101-81. Darren Collison scored 21 points in the blowout.

Next up for the Clippers are the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
