The Hart football team will play a rare home game at Canyon High School tonight against Burroughs of Burbank.
Hart is coming off an impressive, 49-24, win over Palmdale for its first win of the season.
Burroughs is getting its fill of Foothill League teams. Saugus and Canyon have already beaten Burroughs this season.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
In high school volleyball, the Valencia girls beat a tough Lakewood team in five games to win their second match in a row.
Delaney Knudsen led Valencia with 16 kills and Carly Carapella had 23 digs.
The Santa Clarita Christian girls volleyball team beat Trinity Classical Academy in five games in a match-up of crosstown rivals. Logan Hermanson led Santa Clarita Christian with 10 kills.
Julia Howell had eight kills, eight blocks and 11 digs to lead Trinity.
The College of the Canyons women’s volleyball team lost to El Camino College in three games and dropped to 1-2 on the season.
In high school golf, the Hart girls lost to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame by 28 strokes, 219-247, at Valencia Country Club.
Hart’s Kendell Dusenberry shot the low round of the match, a 1-under par 35, but the Hart girls lost their third match in a row. They are 0-3 to start the season.
In baseball, the Angels beat the A’s, 4-1, and starter Jered Weaver won his 17th game of the season. Rookie Mark Trumbo hit a two-run home run for the Angels in the sixth inning.
But the Rangers won as well, downing the Indians, 9-1. The Angels trail the Rangers by three games in the American League West standings.
