Hart Girls Basketball Team Wins La Canada Tournament

khts_sportsThe Hart girls basketball team won the La Canada Tournament on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Melissa Boscarino.

Her 3-pointer gave Hart a 57-55 win over Montclair Prep in the championship game of the tournament.

Hart made 10 3-pointers in the game. Christina Falcone scored a team-high 20 points for Hart. Teammate Mariah Glasshoff scored eight points and earned tournament most valuable player.

The West Ranch girls basketball team beat Valencia, 57-53, in the consolation bracket of the West Coast Holiday Tournament. Freshman Kaylie Fandino scored 16 points to lead West Ranch.

Lauren Spargo and Kalia Summerlin each scored 16 points for Valencia.

The Canyon girls basketball team beat Pacifica of Oxnard, 53-34, in the West Coast Holiday Tournament. Alia McCoy scored a team-high 12 points for Canyon.

The Saugus girls beat Westchester, 49-38, in the West Coast Holiday Classic. Megan Dawe scored18 points and had nine rebounds for Saugus.

The Saugus boys basketball team won the Hart Holiday Classic, downing Hart, 85-68, in the championship game.

Jeremy Gatewood scored 34 points and Brad Buchignani earned tournament MVP.

Hart’s Roman Delgado scored 30 points and made eight 3-pointers.

The Valencia boys basketball team lost to Sacramento, 66-58 in overtime, in the third-place game of the Oaks Christian Holiday Classic.

Lonnie Jackson scored 24 points and earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

The Canyon boys soccer team beat Golden Valley, 4-1, in the third-place game of the La Canada Tournament. Jordan Markovich scored two goals for Canyon.

The Kings lost to the visiting Philadelphia Flyers, 7-4, at Staples Center. Mike Richards scored two goals and had two assists for the Flyers.

Ryan Smyth scored two goals for the Kings, losers of two in a row.

Next up for the Kings are the San Jose Sharks on New Year’s Day.
