Hart, Saugus Start CIF Baseball Playoffs On Tuesday

 

Hart is in the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs. The fourth-place team in the Foothill League needed an at-large berth to make the postseason tournament. The Indians face Camarillo on the road in the wild-card round Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Saugus, the third-place team in Foothill League, oddly enough has to play a wild-card game too. The Centurions are at home against Oxnard on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. Oxnard, from the Pacific View League, earned an at-large playoff bid.

Valencia, the Foothill League champs, will play the winner of the Newbury Park vs. Vista Murrieta game. The Vikings are home for their first-round game on Friday.

West Ranch, the second-place team in the Foothill League, is home against El Dorado, the second-place team from the Century League.

In the softball playoffs, Canyon earned an at-large berth and will play Orange Lutheran from the Trinity League in the wild-card round of the Southern Section Division I bracket on Tuesday.

Valencia, the top-seeded team from the Foothill League, will face the winner of the Agoura vs. Camarillo wild-card game. The Vikings’ first-round game is Thursday at Valencia at 3:15 p.m.

Hart, which finished in a first-place tie with Valencia in the Foothill League standings, is home against Trabuco Hills, the third-place team from the Sea View League on Thursday. Saugus is at Thousand Oaks, the Marmonte League champs.

The Santa Clarita Christian softball team is on the road against Grace Brethren, the first-place team from the Frontier League, on Thursday in the first round of the Division VI playoffs. Santa Clarita Christian finished in third place in the Liberty League.
