Hart Takes On Chaminade In High School Football Home Opener At COC

The Hart football team, the No. 1 ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Northern Divisions, plays its home opener against Chaminade at College of the Canyons tonight.

The Indians won their season opener against Santiago on the road in Corona.

Chaminade is the No. 2 team in the Southern Section Western Division. The Eagles won their opener, 57-33, against Venice.

Listen to the game tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. Kickoff is at 7.

In other high school football action, West Ranch will look to win its second game in a row against Sierra Canyon at Valencia High School. West Ranch is ranked No. 7 in the Northern Division. Sierra Canyon is the No. 3 team in the Mid-Valley Division.

The Valencia football team, ranked No. 3 in the Northern Division, is on the road against Palmdale.

Golden Valley travels to Simi Valley to play Royal.

Saugus plays Simi Valley High School.

The Canyon football team, ranked No. 4 in the Northern Division, plays its home opener against Clovis West on Saturday night.

In auto racing, the Spears SRL Southwest Tour makes a visit to Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield for the DC’s RV Center 100 on Saturday night.

The SRL S2 Tour Series and Legends Cars are also scheduled to race. The green flag drops at 7.

In baseball, the Dodgers are in Cincinnati to start a weekend series with the Reds tonight.

Chris Capuano starts for the Dodgers against Mike Leake for the Reds.

The Dodgers lead the National League West standings by 12 ½ games over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
