Santa Clarita Sports Report: November 14, 2014

The CIF Southern Section West Valley Division playoffs begin tonight with Valencia, Hart and Canyon in action.

Valencia has the only home game. The Vikings, the champions of the Foothill League, take on Rancho Cucamonga.

Rancho Cucamonga is the third-place team from the Baseline League. The game is at Valencia High School.

Hart travels to Edison in Huntington Beach for its first-round playoff game. Hart finished in second place in the Foothill League. Edison is the second-place team from the Sunset League.

Santa Clarita High School Football Playoffs

The Canyon football team has the toughest test in the first round. They travel to Vista Murrieta to take on the No. 2 seed in the West Valley Division playoffs.

Canyon is the third place team from the Foothill League. Vista Murrieta is champion of the Southwestern League and went undefeated in league play.

About Kyle Jellings

Kyle Jellings grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and graduated from Canyon High School in 2004. Following his high school career he spent three years at College of the Canyons where he graduated with his Associate's Degree. Kyle then traveled to Utah where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Communication: Journalism emphasis from Utah Valley University. While in Utah, Kyle had the opportunity to do many different internships which included a Production Assistant at ESPN 700 and a Media Relations Assistant with the 2009 MLS Cup Champions Real Salt Lake. Kyle was married to his wife Paola in 2008 and they had their first child, Calvin, in August of 2010. When Kyle is not at KHTS he enjoys spending time with his family and being involved in sports in any way.
