High School Volleyball Teams Eliminated From CIF Playoffs

sportslocalThe CIF volleyball playoffs are over for the teams from the Santa Clarita Valley. The three remaining teams all lost their second round playoff matches on Thursday night.

The West Ranch girls volleyball team lost in four games to Marymount. West Ranch outside hitter Allison Summers had a team-high 16 kills and 13 digs in the Division I-A second round playoff match.

 

The Valencia girls volleyball team lost in five games to El Toro. Katie Hank had a team-high 24 kills and Nicole DeLange had 12 kills for Valencia.

The Santa Clarita Christian girls volleyball team lost in five games to Hesperia Christian in the Division V-AA playoffs. Amanda Mothershead had eight kills and seven digs to lead Santa Clarita Christian.

The undefeated Valencia football team will look to finish Foothill League play a perfect 5-0 tonight against West Ranch at Valencia High School. Valencia is coming off a 49-0 blowout against Saugus.

West Ranch needs a win and a Saugus loss to Canyon to move in to third place in the league standings and secure a spot in the playoffs.
West Ranch is coming off a 43-26 loss to Hart.

Saugus, playing without starting quarterback Zack Gauthier who is out for the season with a back injury, heads to Canyon for their league finale.
Canyon is coming off its first win of the season, a 31-0 shutout against Golden Valley.

Hart gets winless Golden Valley as a playoff prep at College of the Canyons.
