Five weeks of Foothill League soccer came to an end last night, and three schools can rejoice in playoff births. In boy’s action, Hart’s 3-0 victory over Canyon created a three-way championship. Hart, Canyon and Saugus all have 19 points and will share the crown. The Indians earn the top league playoff seed based on head-to-head action, with Canyon second and Saugus third. Saugus knocked off West Ranch 4-1. Golden Valley and Valencia end their season with a 2-2 tie.
Girl’s action has the same three schools in the playoffs; however Saugus claims the league title outright, with Hart and Canyon tied in second. The Indians receive the number two seed, with Canyon third. Saugus tied with West Ranch 1-1, and Hart also played to a 1-1 tie with Canyon. Valencia and Golden Valley played to a 1-1 tie.
Five weeks of Foothill League basketball action come to an end tonight. Although Valencia and Saugus have clinched playoff spots, the two are tied at the top of the league standings. KHTS will be live from Canyon High at 6:15pm, where the Cowboys fight to keep their third place hopes alive against the Vikings. Across the valley, Hart will look to knock of Saugus. A West Ranch win over Golden Valley clinches the third guaranteed playoff spot.
The Hart girl’s have already clinched league, while Saugus has secured second. Valencia and Canyon will play for the third guaranteed playoff spot tonight as well.
The Anaheim Ducks defeated the New York Rangers, 4-1. The Kings knocked off NHL-leading Detroit, 5-3. The Kings take on Pittsburgh, live on KHTS tomorrow at 9:30am.
