It turns out two former COC football stars were selected in the NFL Draft over the weekend. As reported yesterday, the Washington Redskins selected Arizona State defensive back Justin Tryon in round four. A teammate to Tryon from 2004-2005 was also selected late in the draft. Former Cougar linebacker Joey LaRocque was a seventh round pick to the Chicago Bears. LaRocque was a standout outside linebacker with Oregon State the previous two years. LaRocque was a roommate to former COC and Valencia High School wide receiver Shane Morales while playing for the Beavers. Tryon is expected to contribute in sub-packages and as a possible kick returner for the Redskins. LaRocque will provide some much needed depth for the Bears while playing on special teams.
