The final full day of Foothill League softball featured nothing out of the ordinary.  Destiny Rodino shut down Golden Valley, as Hart won 10-0 to secure at least a share of the league championship.  All the Indians can do now is wait, after Valencia beat Saugus 14-3.  The Vikings and West Ranch must play the final regular season game on Thursday.  A Valencia win means the third shared title in Valencia’s eight year run atop league.  A Viking loss and the streak end’s at seven years.

Congratulations to the following College of the Canyons Cougar baseball players for being named First-Team Western State Conference players;  Western State Conference Player of the Year Brian Hernandez, Kyle Harris, Dean Benavidez, Tyreace House, Luis Perez, Mike McCravey, Hart graduate Brian Charnock, and Valencia grad Caleb Deville.  Former Canyon players John Hay and Anthony DiGiacomo were named to the second team, as was former Saugus player Kody Kurowski.  Cougar head coach Chris Cota was named the WSC Coach of the Year.

The NBA officially made Kobe Bryant the MVP yesterday.  Kobe will be awarded tonight before game two of the Lakers second round series with Utah, scheduled for 7:30pm.

The Dodgers won their tenth game in eleven tries, 5-4 over the Mets, behind a Blake DeWitt inside-the-park two-run home run.  The Dodgers look for the three-game sweep in an early game, live on KHTS at 11:30am this morning.
