And then there was one.  The Foothill League lost one of their co-champions in the CIF Southern Section Division I softball playoffs yesterday.  The Hart Indians faced Norco for the third straight year in the playoffs, and for the second time Norco came away victorious.  The Indians and Norco battled to a scoreless tie through seven innings, but Norco scored in the top of the eighth and Hart could not answer.  The Valencia Vikings, last years CIF Champions, looked great against Corona in a 6-0 victory.  Jessica Spigner allowed just three base runners and added a no-doubt-about-it homerun in the fourth inning.  The Vikings now face a tough matchup in a rematch of last years semifinal matchup when they play Corona Santiago on Tuesday.

The Valencia Vikings boy’s volleyball squad advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division II Championship Game with a four game victory over Dos Pueblos yesterday.  The 23-25 loss in the third game marked the first loss of the postseason for the Vikings.  The Vikings will play Santa Barbara for the third time this year tomorrow in the title game.

The Los Angeles Lakers take on San Antonio tonight in game two of the Western Conference Finals.  The Lakers hold a 1-0 series lead following a dramatic 89-85 win over the defending NBA Champion Spurs on Wednesday.  The game is scheduled for 6:00pm at the Staples Center.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took a much needed day off yesterday, and expect early MVP candidate Rafael Furcal to return tonight when the Dodgers host St. Louis for a three game series.  You can hear all of the action from game one live on KHTS at 7:00pm.
