Could the Valencia Vikings earn their second National Championship in as many years?  One year after the softball team took home the exclusive title, the boy’s volleyball team can only sit and wait after capturing the CIF Southern Section Division II Championship on Saturday night with a 25-16, 32-30, 25-22 sweep of Santa Barbara, ending a dominating season which featured an undefeated league schedule and victories over power houses Mater Dei and two wins over the Santa Barbara Dons.

The Valencia Viking softball team will travel to Corona to face Santiago in a rematch of the semi-final match in the CIF Division I Playoffs.  The Vikings are the only Foothill League team in any sport that is still playing.

The Hart Indians and Valencia Vikings baseball squads both had their seasons end on Friday.  Hart lost 4-2 to Long Beach Wilson, while Valencia was hammered by Simi Valley to a tune of 13-2.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a 2-1 lead over defending NBA Champion San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals.  The Lakers take on the Spurs in San Antonio tonight, with game time scheduled for 6pm.
