Three local golfers participated in the CIF-SCGA Southern California Regional Golf Championship at Murrieta Valley on Thursday, and in the end, the Foothill League’s best turned out to be Southern California’s best.  Hart’s Johnny MacArthur, the Foothill League MVP, shot a 5-under 67 to win the CIF Championship on the second playoff hole.  MacArthur will join the other top six scoring players at the CIF State Championships on Tuesday.  Valencia’s Max Homa and West Ranch freshman J.J. Holen both finished in the middle of the 124 golfer field.

The Valencia Vikings softball team finishes up final preparations today for tomorrows CIF Division I Championship game against Simi Valley.  The game will be played at 6pm at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine.  Last year the Vikings defeated Hart in the game to earn their first ever CIF, State and National Championships.

The Los Angeles Lakers rallied from a 17-point deficit in the second quarter to defeat San Antonio, 100-92, sending the Lakers to their first NBA Finals since 2004.  The Lakers now await the winner of the Detroit and Boston series.  Boston has a 3-2 lead heading into game six tonight in Detroit, scheduled for 5:30pm.

The Los Angeles Dodgers took another loss, this time at the hands of the New York Mets, 8-4.  Top prospect Clayton Kershaw makes his first road start tonight for the Dodgers in game two of the four game series, live on KHTS at 3:30pm.
