Former Hart High pitcher James Shields signed a contract extension with the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday.  The deal is worth $11.25 million over four years, with club options for three more years.  If performance bonuses are included, the second-year veteran could earn $44 million over seven years in Tampa.

 

Major League Baseball announced the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will play in the first ever MLB games played in China.  The two teams will square off in Beijing on March 15th and 16th as part of their spring training schedules.  The games will be played at Wukesong Baseball Field, the site of the 2008 Summer Olympics baseball competition.

 

College of the Canyons Men’s Basketball team lost to L.A. Valley, 69-56.  COC’s Women’s team defeated Valley, 95-91.

 

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to San Antonio, 103-91.  The Los Angeles Clippers defeated Sacramento, 111-85.

 

The Anaheim Ducks lost to Detroit, 2-1.  The Ducks take on the Los Angeles Kings live tonight on KHTS at 7pm.
