[view:node_ad=5]In girls volleyball, Foothill League action starts today as Saugus plays at Valencia.  Golden Valley is at Hart and Canyon visits West Ranch.

In tennis, the Lady Vikings of Valencia beat Mayfield 13 – 5 to extend their record to 8 – 0.  Mayfield is ranked fourth in the CIF Southern Section Division III poll. Valencia is currently ranked second.

Speaking of rankings, a couple of our local teams have a number 1 ranking. The Hart Indians have moved up to number 1 in CIF’s Northern Division football poll and the Saugus Centurions continue to hold the top spot in CIF’s Southern Section Division I Girls Cross Country poll.

Congratulations to quarterback Graham Wilbert of Valencia High School for being named the Lockheed Player of the Week.  Wilbert threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns in the Vikings 56 to 7 win over St. John Bosco.  For his efforts, Lockheed Federal Credit Union will be donating $250 to the Valencia booster club.

Don’t forget that KHTS will bring you exciting high school football action this Thursday night as the Canyon Cowboys host the Crespi Celts.  The pre-game show starts at 6:30, with the kickoff at 7:00, on AM-1220 KHTS.
