In week three of Foothill League action Friday night, in a game heard live on KHTS, the Valencia Vikings and Hart Indians tied 21-21. Hart Senior kicker Johnny MacArthur missed a field goal with five-seconds remaining. In other action from around the league, the Saugus Centurions took sole possession of first place in the Foothill League with a 70-27 domination over Golden Valley. Also, the Canyon Cowboys defeated the West Ranch Wildcats, 10-3.
On Saturday evening the College of the Canyons Cougars defeated Allan Hancock 49-28, in a game heard live on KHTS. Quarterback Joey Frias threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns in the first home start of his career. The Cougars now share first place in the Western State Conference Mountain Division with BakersfieldCollege.
The Boston Red Sox defeated the Colorado Rockies, 4-3, on Sunday night to sweep their second World Series in four years. Mike Lowell was named MVP.
The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, 4-1. You can hear Wednesday’s evening’s game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets live on KHTS AM 1220 at 7:00pm.
