Hometown Sports Report 11-16-07

A busy weekend is in store for Santa Clarita sports fans.  In football, the playoffs start tonight, and KHTS has all of the action for you.  The Saugus Centurions host Pacifica in a first-round match-up from Valencia High School, live at 6:30pm.  Tomorrow you can hear that Foothill League Champion Hart Indians take on Thousand Oaks, at 10am.  And the fourth-ranked College of the Canyon Cougars take on number five Saddleback, live at 6:30pm on Saturday.

The Valencia Vikings girls’ tennis team advanced to Monday morning’s Division III Championship game, following a 12-6 victory over Long Beach Poly yesterday.  The Vikings will take on Chadwick of Rancho Palos Verdes at 10:30am on Monday.  This is the Vikings third straight appearance in the championship game.

Congratulations to the following SCVAA Warriors football teams that have advanced into the semifinals of their playoff brackets:  The Pee Wee Warriors, the Bantam Seminoles, Chiefs, and Apaches, the Junior Seminoles, Aztecs, and Apaches, and the Senior Warriors.

For the second time in three days, the Los Angeles Kings blew a lead to lose to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks, 6-3.  The Kings will take on the Phoenix Coyotes, immediately following the Hart game, tomorrow on KHTS.
