The number one college hoops team in the country, UCLA, defeated Maryland, 71-57, last night to advance to the finals of the CBE tournament against 11th ranked Michigan State.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have traded shortstop Orlando Cabrera and cash to the Chicago White Sox, for former Kennedy High School pitcher Jon Garland.
